Matt's Mysterious Adventure, Book II: The Hunt for Jaws

Btw storyline is set. Nothing anyone says will make me change it.

Chapter One:

I did a head count. 700 warriors. Not nearly enough for a war. But we were very skilled. Our strongest warriors were me, Hirari, Iz, Mat (Miloth, I'll call him Mat from now on), Minh, Mikey, Jake, Gamma, Jester, Jorden, Madness, Tom, Jak, Hunter, and Derek. Derek had come last night with a handful of warriors from MapleMation. The entire fighting team. The weapon creating team was right behind them, led by Madness. We had Juju already. Benoa was at our line, too. I saw Josh next to Sai. Tom of MapleMation was next to Daniel. Hirari and Horace joined MapleMation's Strategic team. Jjay nodded to them. Up ahead we saw Xsin's minions. There were at least two thousand of them. We had the advantage in skill; they had the advantage in numbers.

However, there were more than just minions. There were people that had joined with Xsin. Among them were Tate, Makani, Chris, Heki, Jayson, Trowicia, and Nani. Nani. How was I supposed to fight my friend?

Up above, I saw Jaws leading them. I wondered where Rumswiler was. He should be with Tate and Makani. Suddenly, about fifty minions went for us. "ATTACK!" Minh roared.

Our line charged as the The Third Great Maple War began.

Lighting flickered. I suspected it was Derek because the lightning zapped about twenty minions. I saw Jaws, and then I didn't. It was as if he was there just to give orders, then flee. This was weird. I thought Jaws or Sigma would help them fight. I told Horace and Jjay this. "This is interesting. We'll figure out more, Matt. You need to help fight," Horace said.

Hirari was at my side at an instant. "Let's go," she murmured.

I nodded. I transformed and went at them.

It was insane. I killed about fifty minions in one good shot. I used space-time techniques to teleport, then just create a black hole that would compress and kill them. The minions were idiots. I knew that because they actually fell for it. It took thirty seconds for the black hole to come up, and there's a black barrel in the middle. It looked like the minions were blind.....just like Jaws.

They looked like Jaws, too. What was this? They had things stabbed into them that looked similar to Jaws' sword. I needed to take a body. I teleported to the back of a minion, got them in a headlock, and stabbed them with my claw. I saw that we were winning now. About half the minions were dead. That's when the surprise came.

It was Slay, one of the most powerful people. He was carrying his ax. He started slowly walking. He was really slow.

Derek threw his weapon at him. Slay counterattacked with his ax and the dagger thing fell. Derek roared and lightning flashed and was about to hit Slay. He just took out his ax and absorbed it. He then threw his ax straight at the body I was clutching. I swore and ran.

The ax was fast, but I was faster. I ran, ran, and ran. Something clicked in my brain. They didn't want me to know about this body. I came to a halt and took out a water balloon. I charged it with boiling water and threw it straight at the ax. I expected it to pop, which it did, and the force of the water was enough to bring down the ax.

I ran all the way to Jjay. "Take this body, and observe it. There's something going on."

I told her all I knew.

She frowned. "I don't know....what's this piece of metal stabbed into them?"

"Figure it out. I need to head back into the fight."

I ran back out. To my dismay, I saw Hirari taking on Makani, and badly losing. I swore and ran right at him. Makani raised his eyebrows. His amber eyes looked toward me with confusion.

"BITCH!!" I yelled as I stabbed him.

Makani looked shocked as blood spurted out of him. His amber eyes seemed to look through my mind.
"I know you hate me," he choked out.

I merely growled.

"But I don't hate you," he smiled.

He then collapsed. Up above Tate saw him fall. He sped right to me and looked as if he was going to stab me with his scythe. I was too stunned to defend myself. Tate glared at me. He ten roared, "RETREAT!"

Minh saw this and yelled, "After them!"

I stopped him. "No. It's best to regroup. We're overextended."

His face was full of fury, but he eventually calmed down. "Fine."

That was the first shocker of the war. But the second was coming up right at me. It was when I talked to Jjay and Goates.

Chapter Two:

There was blood in Jjay's hands. "Check this out, guys."

In her hands were the pieces of metal that looked like it was from Jaws' sword. "It's radiating energy," Goates said.

Minh, Mikey, Jake, Iz, Mat, and I came closer. We could all feel it. "What does this mean?" Iz murmured.

"I don't know," Horace said.

I was surprised that he was there. For the first time, he looked serious...and frustrated. He hated not knowing. "These pieces are stabbed into several body parts. And if this gives out energy.......what does that mean?"

We were really confused. I could see the Strategic teams combining forces. Jjay, Horace, Goates, Mad Hatter, and now Hirari were talking. I thought about it. I felt the energy radiating out, almost as if...it was fuel.

"Guys," I said.

Everyone looked at me. "Where were these pieces stabbed?" I asked

This was the critical moment. "It's where energy flows," Jjay said. "Look. That's the place where abilities usually get formed. And up there," she pointed at veins to the heart, "are vital parts of energy, though the piercings don't hit the vital spots, but the energy flows in."

I thought about it. "Wait." Goates said.

She looked around. "I think...yes...maybe I got it! But I need to make sure..." she trailed off.

"What?" Minh asked.

Goates scrambled out the door. Mikey roared in frustration and chased after her. I shook my head. I thought Goates needed some time to think about it. This was a bad mistake.

Hours later, Goates still hadn't returned. Mikey had lost her and come back We started worrying. "It's been a while," Jjay finally said.

"Where could she have gone?" Mad Hatter murmured.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. It was Uri. "Sup?" I greeted.

Uri was shaking. "Look outside...."

All of us stepped out. There was a huge crowd. It was Tate, clutching two bodies. He looked at me for a minute, and turned to Minh. "Hello," he said grimly.

I stared at the bodies. One had black hair and a red mask....RumSwiler. He had died. He looked like he'd been stabbed multiple times. The second body...Goates. She must have figured it out...and died. Apparently there was a secret to this. But they wouldn't let us figure it out.

"We're joining forces with you," Tate announced.

Behind him were Ethan, Heki, Aidan...and George. He'd survived. "There are others still with Xsin. Those minions you fought today were small ones. Tomorrow, you will fight the bigger and stronger ones."

"Wait," I said.

Tate glared at me. He must've not forgotten me killing Makani. "Is there some secret to these minions?" I asked.

"Yes...but I can't tell...." Tate said.

"Why not?" Mikey cried.

"Jaws...is the center of it all..that's all I can say. He put a bind on me that tortures me if I utter even a vague description."

"We need to find out," Gamma said.

Yes...for Goates...for everyone who had died so far for this war...we needed to win.

Chapter Three:

We'd been through pretty tough attacks. About two hundred warriors were dead, among them Chris, Gregio, Hank, Josh, Flamberge, and Jayson. Gregio, one of our master fighters had apparently been ambushed by SN and Sigma. His body was sent to us, just like every other body that had been ambushed. They were all warnings. Gregio had been stabbed violently with Sigma's weapon thing. We hoped he would rest in peace.

Jjay found it. She got through. "Yes...it's true! Look! Don't you get it? These are manipulated by someone, and that someone is controlling the minions!"

We all saw it. Of course. One person was sitting along the sidelines, and just manipulating these minions. And because these were pieces identical to Jaws' sword....that could only mean one thing: "It's Jaws," I whispered.*

*Footnote: Yes, it's similar to Naruto, in Pain's invasion. I didn't intend to copy it. Sorry.

"We'll have to hunt for him..." Gamma murmured.

"But how?" Jake asked. "We have to fight this war. We can't send our best people just to find Jaws."

"And if we send only few people, it could take weeks," Minh added.

"Isn't there anyone who can track people?" Tate asked.

"Hang on...." I slowly said.

"I don't know...maybe. Because when I transform, I become psychic, and I might be able to detect where he is." I told everyone.

"Go ahead, Matt," Mikey nodded.

I took a deep breath, and I transformed again. My eyes became larger, and purple. My hair grew and changed color. Until now, I had never transformed until it was a fierce fight. But now, since I wasn't all alert, I payed more attention to the feeling of transforming.

It felt odd. My hair growing felt like one second my hair was short, and the next second there's hair above my head.

After it was over, I shut my eyes. Hmm...it seemed..I could see over immense distances. "What do you see?" Iz urged.

"I can see for miles and miles," I murmured.

"Come on, Matt," Mat whispered.

I concentrated harder...until I found a block. I couldn't get through it. It was like a giant wall of energy I couldn't see past. I ran through the causes of this:
A) Jaws had created it, so that we couldn't track him.
B) There was a limit of the distance I could see, and I'd gone for at least 200 miles.
C) None of the above.

I tried to work my way around it. No use. Well then, I had to see if it was either a limit, or just Jaws' work. I went backwards for about 200 miles...300 miles...yes..it was Jaws' work. Which meant Jaws was near that roadblock.

I opened my eyes. "I don't know his precise location, but I think I know where he is," I told everyone.

"Good. We'll need to assemble an assassination squad. In the meantime, everyone, rest up. Matt, Iz, Daniel, Mat, Team Leaders, and other city moderators, stay here."

We stayed while all the other people went to bed.

We entered the conference room. Normally, it was just seats for the Super Moderators, Team Leaders, and regular moderators, as well as seats for leaders, but it had grown. Now on the seats were "Moderator of _______", or "Fighting Team Leader of ______". I sat down in a seat that said, "Super Moderator of MapleBirth." Next to me were Daniel and Iz. In front were George, Zayou, and Jack. Jack had taken the place of Fighting Team Leader in MapleBirth, since Xsin had defected.

"We'll assemble our assassination squad amongst us, the best fighters. We'll need to have a group of five, in case all four of Xsin's team are there. We'll outnumber them," Minh said.

"Matt, you're automatically in, and you'll be the leader," Minh said to me.

"Me? But why?" I asked, surprised. Minh didn't let me lead anything, ever.

"Because you know where Jaws is. Now, any volunteers?"

Because of that sole reason, I was a leader, for this. "By the way, Matt, this counts as a MISSION. If you complete it, I'll let you have three points in the 'missions completed' area. The rest of the guys will get one, if they're in this city," Minh told me.

Wow. Three missions. But this wouldn't be an easy one.

"I'll go," Dylan said. He took out his trumpet and blew a few notes, the kind of melody you hear when someone royal is being announced.

He then stood next to me. "Excellent," Minh said. "Anyone else?"

"I think I will," a voice came out from the door. It was Tom.

"Yes," I approved.

Minh didn't question why he was there. "Okay, it's Matt, Tom, Dylan, and two more people. One more volunteer, then Matt gets to pick the last."

Mikey immediately said he'd go. "Okay, Matt?" Minh aksed.

"Um...I think I want Mat to go. He'd be good at scouting, since he's a ghost."

Mat floated up, and nodded, and floated next to Tom. "Okay, tomorrow morning, you five will venture out and find Jaws, and kill him if you find him," Minh instructed. "Go to bed. You'll need your rest."

We all dispersed.

In our room, Tom asked me, "Where were you coming from when you ran to MapleMation, the day before it started? You only told me about the chase."

"Well, I was gathering information on these mythical stones. They're supposedly in Omega Castle, where Omega lives," I explained.

"The Gold of Greatness, the Platinum of Power, the Sapphire of Sweetness, the Emerald of Effort, and the Diamond of Destiny."

"Those gemstones can apparently give you ultimate power or something. They're said to be part of the forbidden earrings Dray and Rizzo had."

"Wow," Tom said.

"I'll tell you more as we go look for Jaws," I said. I was really tired. Without further ado, I nodded off.

Chapter Four:

We rushed through the woods. "So yeah," I said to Tom. "The Gold of Greatness, it's said to give you ultimate wealth and fame, nothing really improving your abilities."

"The Platinum of Power, on the other hand, makes you as strong as even Slay, but without his drawbacks, like he's a slow faggot."

"The Sapphire of Sweetness gives you power to convince anyone to come to your side, unless they have a really, really powerful hatred against you," I continued.

"The Emerald of Effort, it's a jewel that gives you a motivation, and say you're trying to create a new fighting move, but you just can't think of anything. This gets you some more inspiration."

"Finally, the Diamond of Destiny," I said. "You can see the future. Probably the most dangerous and useful one," I finished.

Tom's face was just a mouth open. "And these jewels were related to the Forbidden Earrings?" Tom asked.

I nodded. "And these jewels were the key ingredients to the Kombat Generator," I said.

"You need all five to get it to work," I explained.

I'd figured it out during my studies of ancient history last night. When Tom was asleep, I'd done everything. "So they want these jewels."

"Yes," I whispered. "In the old days, when Tate was building MapleMation, Madness's fighting tutorial went worldwide, the Kombat Generator disappeared, and the five jewels were gone. Dray was an old man by this time, and he hid them, and shortly after that, got assassinated."

The assassination of Dray had been quick; no one knew to this day who'd done it. "Guys," Dylan said.

I looked ahead. There was...a big force field...like a circular dark barrier. I poked it. It SHOCKED ME. "OW!" I yelled.

Mikey rolled his eyes. "Don't touch it, idiot."

"WELL, GOOD TIMING!" I roared.

Mat stepped forward. "Let me try," he said.

"STOP!" a familiar voice said.

Chapter Five:

Jeremy. He was back. "Jeremy!" I cried.

"I can't let you pass, Matt," Jeremy said.

He looked truly happy about the fact, like getting to kill me was the best thing that ever happened to him. Me? I was hurt. Jeremy betrayed me? Just like Nani....

Dylan and Mikey stepped forward. "We'll handle him, Matt," Mikey said. "You, Tom, and Mat work on the field."

With that said, an orb of flame appeared on Mikey's hand and he threw it at Jeremy. Jeremy dodged and made a leap toward Dylan. Dylan roared, "I'MA FIRIN' MAH LAZAR" and a huge laser (or lazar?) came out of the trumpet and blasted Jeremy.

Mat had turned invisible and gone through. He was looking for a switch to disable the field. Meanwhile, I was looking at one of my best friends being killed by my best friends. What was I supposed to do? "STOP!" I yelled.

Jeremy looked shocked. Mikey and Dylan looked taken aback. I transformed and pinned Jeremy down. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?" I yelled.

Jeremy looked angry, then sad. He pushed me off with force that could've knocked down an entire forest. I slammed into the ground, the damage of the fall making me revert to original. "It's too late, Matt," Jeremy said. "Jaws promised me. He did....he promised..."

And with that, he started walking away, looking like he was drunk. A few minutes later, with all of us staring, he jumped, and landed in some distant village. East...the direction to MapleTime. Was Uri there? He would probably protect his village...but there were bangs and screams from there. The village was soon in flames. Jeremy was destroying villages. And then, we saw a flame move that could only be Uri's. Then...there was only smoke. We all sat there, horrified.

Mat came back after about fifteen minutes. We realized the force field was down. "Hey, guys I got it...what's wrong?"

We couldn't find words, but we managed to tell him everything. Mat soon sat down too, horrified. We sat there for half an hour...pondering about what we'd just seen. But we needed to get a move on, and find Jaws, and destroy him. Kill him. And win this war.

Chapter Six:

I straightened up. "C'mon, guys," I said softly.

"We can't sit here all day. We have to find Jaws and get out of here."

Dylan took out his trumpet and blew a little tune. "I'm ready," he announced.

Everyone slowly began to get back to life, and we walked straight through where the force field had been. Tom looked around. "Hey, Matt?" he asked.

"Yeah?"

"Remember about those jewels?"

Mikey spun around and asked sharply, "Jewels?"

"Yeah, you know, the jewels that made the Forbidden Earrings," I explained.

Mikey's face turned to a look of pain. "Yes...Minh and I...we had the possession of the Diamond of Destiny," he said quietly.

I gasped. Everyone looked around. Mikey sighed. "The place where Minh was sealed was an icy, treacherous place. However, if you looked closely through the blizzard, as Minh could, we found a Cave. That cave had many jewels, and we took the one that seemed to radiate power."

"What happened?" Tom asked.

"We kept it for years," Mikey continued. "One day, though, when we were going to MapleMation to visit Jester, the Diamond was somehow stolen. We were ambushed; knocked out. There were eight people around us, and the Diamond was gone when we came to, along with out food," he said bitterly.

"Wait...what exactly are these jewels?" Mat asked.

I quickly explained, and said, "But there are five jewels! And....maybe Xsin's team each have the jewels! And they're still searching for the last!"

Mikey nodded. "Legend states a team of four each will have a jewel, get its powers, and then the Kombat Generator cycle powers up."

"There's more to the cycle then I told you," Mikey said. "Minh knows all of this. I didn't want to tell you, but like I said, a member will end the pattern. However...that member needs all the jewels. You definitely qualify for this member. Uri would be another candidate. You might be able to stop this. That's why Minh wanted you to lead this. He thinks the Xsin's team have the four jewels. We need to find the fifth one--probably the Diamond that got stolen--and then kill Jaws' team."

Wow. How was I supposed to do this? Of course, I was banking on the possibility that it wasn't me.

"Hey! What're they doing here?" we heard.

Uh-oh. In moments we were surrounded by dozens of minions. We stood shoulder to shoulder in our own little circle, but facing forward to the minions.

"Ready for a little fight?" one minion snarled.
